MidlandPort construction in full swing |
Watch the construction of LPC's new Inland Port, MidlandPort, on Jones Road at Rolleston. Work is in full swing. MidlandPort will open March next year, providing a rail link with Lyttelton Port for container freight. It will service Mid-Canterbury's growing freight needs by being a hub for receiving and storing containers and their distribution. The rail connection to the Port will improve container freight efficiency, decrease travel time and costs for customers and reduce trucks on the Port route |

Lyttelton Port tour |
On Sunday 27 September, we held the first public Port tour by boat since the Canterbury earthquakes. The tours are on the last Sunday of the month and our most experienced staff provide information about the Port's operations, projects and future developments. A highlight was the pod of Hector's dolphins that joined Sunday's tour and played about the boat for twenty minutes. Passengers were invited to make a donation to the Cholmondeley Childrens Centre and $250 was raised. The tours are now booked out for the rest of the year. |
